Seeds from China
Recently, people nationwide have been receiving unsolicited packages of seeds from China. Last week, a St. Rose resident received such a package.
It’s unclear who is behind the packages and what the intent is. The USDA, however, believes these packages are part of a “brushing scam” in which third-party sellers send people inexpensive items they didn’t order and write positive product reviews on the seller’s behalf.
Regardless, recipients should not plant seeds from unknown origins. Anyone who receives such a package should call the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry at 225-925-4733.
