LAPLACE — Together Louisiana along with Governor John Bel Edwards has offered masks to the residents of St. John the Baptist Parish. The masks will be given out to the public at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 at New Wine Christian Fellowship in LaPlace.

Community member Annette Houston and Councilwomen Tammy Houston and Tyra Griffin-Duhe helped coordinate this event.

In addition, Lynn Tran of Perfect Nails Spa is donating face shields to be given out at the same time. A collection of 500 face shields will be donated to local schools to be distributed to teachers.

The masks are packaged five per bag and each car will be given one bag and one face shield, as supplies last.
