LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Library worked with “The Calling Card,” a logo consultant from New Orleans, to create a new logo that more closely reflected the community, the library and the director’s vision for the future.

All staff members and the Library Board president were a part of the process, including their input and reviews.

The logo reflects:

  • The library’s history of strong ties to the community through an oak tree, signifying strength and growth.
  • The outline of a face reflecting its audience. “I see myself in my community library, or I see myself growing in this library.”
  • The stacks of the books through the outline to the left of the book spines represents the many books the library has to offer.
  • The colors reflect the green of the marshes, leading to the calming light (peach/orange) for nourishment, and moving upward seeking the future in the blue of the sky.
