LAPLACE—Many children in the area are missing the school experience, seeing their teachers and friends. St. Joan of Arc Kindergarten teacher, Dana Bourgeois has found a way to make it a bit easier for her students. She mailed each one a paper doll with her picture on it.

It is called The Flat Teacher Project! Its purpose is to give the children a friend to take with them for whatever they do. Each child also received the following note:

Hello, students, I’ve missed you so. Let’s start adverturing, but where should we go?

We can hang out on the carpet, reading a book or playing cars. Maybe play some baseball or eat some pizza, the adventure will be ours.

We can play some games, do some art, or eat some snacks, and that’s just a start! There’s fun to be had indoors and out. So let’s go see what this is all about.

I miss seeing you each day. So here is a way to take me with you on your travels, adventures or just play.

I can’t wait to see where you take me or what we do. Even though its not the same, at least I can be with you.
