Michael Oubre Sr. died on Monday, May 4, 2020 from vascular dementia at the age of 72. He was a native of Reserve, a long time resident of the Westbank of Jefferson Parish and a resident of Garyville since 2001. Michael was a 1967 graduate of West Jeff High School and retired from the St. John the Baptist Parish Government.

Beloved husband of Barbara Duhe Galatas Oubre. Father of Michael Oubre Jr. (Natalie) and Brian Oubre (Christine). Step-father of Scott Galatas (Theresa) and Rachel Galatas Erwin (Tiger). Grandfather of Nicole, Brandon, Blake, Camryn and Carson Oubre. Step-grandfather of Whitney, Alex, Abbey and Mallory Brennan and Marissa and Katie Galatas. Step-great-grandfather of Addisyn Boudoin. Son of the late Lucien Oubre Sr. and Florence Klibert Oubre. Brother of Lucien “L. J.” Oubre Jr. (late Judy), Bobby Oubre (Carol), Jane Buquet (Gibson), Janice LeCompte (Mike) and the late Gerald “Pee Wee” Oubre.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of St. Catherine’s Hospice and Ormond Nursing Home.
