The Ascension of our Lord Knights of Columbus Council is currently serving meals from 11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Fridays. The tentative end date is May 8 but will be determined by the stay at home order/when the community begins to open up. Information will be released as it becomes available. The meal will change each week and cost $10 per plate. Drive up orders only. Cash, checks and major credit cards will be accepted. The food is being served at 1809 Greenwood Drive in LaPlace.
St. Joan of Arc is hosting a Thursday Night Book Club. It will use WebEx group meeting to study and discuss “Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary” by Dr. Brant Pitre every Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. on April 30. Linda Monistere will host the group. The St. Joan of Arc Knights of Columbus Council 5935 presents “Fair Food Fridays.” The annual fair was cancelled, however they will be serving meals on Fridays until May 15. The drive thru will be open from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 346 Fir Street in LaPlace. Cash and credit cards are accepted and the proceeds will benefit the St. Joan of Arc School Technology. The following $10 plate meals will be offered: May 1 – Rotisserie Chicken, Dirty Rice and Cole Slaw. May 8 – Spaghetti and meatballs, Green Beans and Bread. May 15 – Shrimp Etouffee, Fried Fish and Corn. Additionally there will also be $8 meals available consisting of hamburger, French fries, dessert and drink on each of the days.
