Thursday Update: St. John Parish reports 721 cases of COVID-19

LAPLACE — As of the Thursday update from the Louisiana Department of Health, there have been 721 reported cases of COVID-19 and 59 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish.
On Wednesday, there were 704 recorded cases and 57 deaths in St. John Parish.
St. Charles Parish has 529 reported cases and 33 deaths, while St. James has 235 reported cases and 17 deaths.
Statewide, there are 25,739 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 481 cases since yesterday’s report.
There have been 1,540 deaths statewide, which is an increase of 67 since Wednesday’s report. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,727 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 274 are on ventilators.
