THIBODAUX — Thibodaux Regional Health System was notified Thursday by state officials that an elderly patient has tested positive for COVID-19.

The appropriate guidelines and protocols as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control are being followed, according to health officials. The safety and well being of patients and staff remains top priority.

“We are one of the best hospitals when it comes to treating infections,” said Greg Stock, Thibodaux Regional CEO. “We are also aware there are many unknown aspects with the coronavirus, and have taken the recommended precautions and will continue to adapt and change as necessary.”

He added, “We appreciate the efforts of our staff, physicians, and the community as we work together to address this monumental challenge.”
