West St. John High School will be hosting its Spring Showcase/Open House from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19. The event will include new student registration, interactive lectures, live demonstrations, clubs and organizations. Faculty members will also be present. West St. John High School is located at 480 LA-3127 in Edgard.

The 5th Annual HBCU Expo is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 14, at the First Community Antioch Baptist Church located at 10860 Highway 3125 in Gramercy. This will be a historical event where all high school students (grades 9 – 12) are invited to attend. Topics will include Historical Black Colleges and Universities, scholarships, bands, athletics, Greek organizations and more.

A free breakfast and lunch will be provided to all students and parents that attend the HBCU Expo. In addition, all students will be eligible to win giveaway prizes. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.

Destiny Christian Center IN LAPLACE is hosting “Rise Up and Reign 2020 Women’s Conference.”  

The celebration begins at 7 p.m. March 13 at Destiny Christian Center. At 10 a.m. on March 14, the Annual High Tea will be held at Belle Terre Country Club.

The event wraps up with Sunday Worship Service at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on March 15. The $40 registration fee includes a gift bag, conference T-shirt, High Tea admission featuring a dynamic fashion show, and specialty gifts throughout the weekend.
