RESERVE — Riverside Academy is the only Pre-K through 12^th grade school in the River Parishes that offers a private education to children as early as 18 months. It’s a place for a child to grow throughout their entire educational journey in preparation for their future.

Riverside Academy has come a long way since it opened its doors in 1970 for elementary, middle and high school students, initially offering first through 12^th grades and later adding Pre-K and kindergarten. Riverside was built by the volunteer hands within the community to open a private school to its local families. Many of their children attend the school today!

Faculty and staff have a passion for helping students succeed beyond the classroom. The school follows the 3-A Philosophy (Academics, Arts and Athletics) to create well-rounded young men and women and prepare them for life after graduation.

Riverside Academy recently revitalized its Parent Teacher Organization. The PTO is devoted to the educational success of students and the promotion of family engagement.

“We have started with bringing our families together for movie nights and initiating conversation to better the future of our students and the Riverside community,” organizers said.

Riverside, since day one, has had a family-oriented atmosphere. The school strives to offer not just a classroom, but a second home to its students. In addition to a plethora of extracurricular activities for students of all ages, the school also offers fun events for the whole family.

“No matter if you have been a part of Riverside your whole life or for one year, you are forever a part of our family,” school officials said. “Once a Rebel, Always a Rebel.”
