LAPLACE — STEM St. John presents STEM Saturday Structures & Hydraulics: Buildings, Bridges and Towers! from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 29. The event will be at the St. John Community Center, located at 2900 US-51 in LaPlace.

Students will learn to construct buildings. bridges, towers and geometric structures made of different materials. There will also be a lesson about the work engineers perform, and what is involved in designing and building a complex.

Another discussion topic involves the different types of forces and how they act on structures.
