This past week, I ran into Stephen Guidry, one of the main supporters of the Godchaux-Reserve House Historical Society. The Society is in the process of restoring both the Godchaux House and the recently acquired Haik store. Both historical buildings sit at the corner of River Road and West 10th Street in Reserve.

Last year, more than 350 people attended a fundraising event to support the completion of the plans for these buildings.

Having lived in Reserve most of my life, I’m excited about what the Society is doing for my hometown.

I’d love if you’d join my wife and I in attending the Godchaux House Annual Celebration which will raise money to further the work of the Society. The event will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Petra’s Restaurant in LaPlace, beginning at 6:30 p.m. It will be an evening of great fellowship, music, food, and drinks. Dressy casual attire is requested. Besides having a good time, you will feel a part of something positive going on in St. John Parish.

Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online at www.godchauxhouse.com or by sending a check payable to GRHHS at P. O. Box 2129, Reserve, LA 70084.
