Ochsner River Region made a donation to the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club. It will be used to fund the DG Club started by Sheriff Tregre in 2017 to advise and guide young men in becoming leaders and role models. Among the many activities and lessons sponsored by the DG Club are basic vehicle maintenance, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, flag football, basketball, bully prevention, and the dangers of vaping. The club also participates in community service projects such as picking up trash in neighborhoods and assisting with Thanksgiving dinners for those in need. Mentors also meet regularly with club members to discuss school, hobbies, and future plans. With Sheriff Tregre for the check presentation, are Ochsner representatives Nancy St. Germain, from left, Mary Vesich, Angelle Weber-Pray and Erin Wilson and DG mentors Steven Faucheux and Keith Duronslet. Businesses or companies interested in assisting the DG Club may call Deputy Keith Duronslet at 985-359-8736.
