LAPLACE — At approximately 1:45  a.m. on  Dec. 25, deputies with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in progress of a firework stand on Airline Highway.

Upon arrival, deputies observed Kenneth Holmes placing fireworks outside of the tent. He then walked out the back of the tent, where deputies made contact with him. Deputies spoke with the caller, who stated they could see someone in the tent removing items through the back. Approximately $300 worth of fireworks  stolen.

Holmes was booked with one count Simple Burglary and three counts of Contempt of Court.
