Roussel selected as 2019 LHA Marketer of the Year

LUTCHER — Kassie Roussel, Director of Marketing at St. James Parish Hospital, was recently selected as the 2019 State Marketer of the Year at the Louisiana Hospital Association’s annual Public Relations and Marketing Conference in Baton Rouge.

The Marketer of the Year Award, a Golden Pelican Award, is one of the top honors at the conference awarded to only one professional in Louisiana. The Marketer of the Year Award is presented to a professional who demonstrates leadership in marketing, expertise in marketing skills, advances the role of marketing and has been recognized for specific achievements.

Roussel was nominated for her creativity and diverse background in communications which includes planning and leading multi-media advertising campaigns, creative writing, digital marketing, public relations, event planning, patient satisfaction initiatives and grant writing at St. James Parish Hospital.

In addition to a Golden Pelican Award, the hospital earned six state marketing awards at the conference for various events and marketing campaigns last year.

“I am blessed with the opportunity to be creative every single day while helping to inform our community. The way we communicate is ever-changing and I am excited to continue to learn and evolve as technology does,” said Roussel.

Roussel graduated Magna Cum Laude from Louisiana State University with a degree in Mass Communications and minors in Business Administration and Sociology. In 2010, she was selected as the Baton Rouge Women in Media Marketing and Events Coordinator of the Year. Since joining the hospital, Kassie has earned nearly 50 state and national accolades for marketing, communications and public relations efforts including three Best of Show Pelican Awards for writing excellence. She has served on the Louisiana Society for Hospital Public Relations and Marketing Board of Directors since 2014, was President of the Society in 2018 and most recently was invited to remain as ex-officio indefinitely. She is a graduate of both the Ascension Parish and River Region Leadership Programs.
