West St. John takes the District Championship: Rams earn 46 – 3 victory over St. Martin’s

METAIRIE – The West St. John Rams went on the road Thursday night with hopes of a victory and an outright district championship as they faced St. Martin’s Episcopal. The Rams had very little trouble as they coasted to a 46 – 3 win over the Saints.

Wantrell Williams put the first points on the board with an 8-yard run for a touchdown, and the Rams took a 7-0 lead. D’Andre Gaudia hit Troy Jasmine on a 54-yard touchdown pass, and West St. John led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Kaejean Kendrick added a touchdown in the second quarter to extend the West St. John lead. Williams scored three more touchdowns in the first half on runs of 8, 25, and 17 yards to give West St. John a 39-3 lead at halftime. Kendrick added another touchdown in the second half for his second of the game on a 60-yard touchdown reception. The Rams defense held St. Martin’s to only one field goal.

West St. John wins the 9-1A District Championship and awaits the playoff seedings on Sunday.
