LAPLACE — Deputy Darlene Cooper, left, and Sgt. Danielle Falgoust of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office recently visited Head Start students at Lake Pontchartrain Elementary in LaPlace for Community Helpers Day.
Falgoust and Cooper stressed to the children that police officers work hard to keep them safe, and that officers are their friends and community helpers. They teach people about the law, solve problems, and serve and protect the community. They also spoke to the children about personal safety and “stranger danger.”
