Festival of the Bonfires burns in early December

LUTCHER — The 30th annual Festival of the Bonfires will take place Dec. 13 to 15 at Lutcher Park, located at 2545 Louisiana Ave in Lutcher.

In addition to a craft show, scheduled activities include a 5K Run/Walk, Beauty Pageant, Amusement Rides, Pictures with Santa, Christmas Tree Display, Popular Live Entertainment, Delicious Food and a Nightly Bonfire Lighting.

The line-up is as follows:

December 13

  • 2 p.,m. Festival Opens
  • 4 p.m. to   6 p.m. – Music By: Jordan Babin
  • 3:45 p.m. Pick up Gumbos
  • 4 p.m. Judge Divisions Gumbo Cook-off
  • 5 p.m. Judge Final Gumbos, Potato Salad, Bread Pudding
  • 6:15 p.m. Cook-off Results
  • 7 p.m. Bonfire Lighting on the Levee*
  • 7 p.m to 9 p.m. Music By: Chase Tyler Band
  • 10 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Music By: Category 6 Band

 December 14

  • 9 a.m. Festival Opens
  • 9 a.m. 4-H Cookie Contest
  • 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Art Contest
  • 9 a.m to 11 a.m Bonfire Contest
  • 9 am to 12 p.m. Children’s Pageant (Stage)
  • 11:15 a.m to 1:15 p.m.- SANTA @ Festival
  • 12 p.m. – Art Show/Bonfire Contest/ Danielle’s Dance Academy
  • 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. -Music By: 3rd Gear
  • 4 pm. Teen/Miss Pageant (Stage)
  • 6:30 p.m.- Announcements of Queens and Visiting Queens
  • 7 p.m. Bonfire Lighting on the Grounds

December 15
