12-year-old juveniles arrested for vandalizing school

LAPLACE — Two 12-year-old male juveniles from LaPlace were arrested Monday, Sept. 30, for breaking in and vandalizing a LaPlace school.

On Sept. 24, school resource officers at the St. John Redirection School in LaPlace were notified of an unauthorized entry of a classroom. Upon arrival, officers observed a shattered window on a door and discovered a classroom had been vandalized. Based on investigation, detectives developed the two juveniles, later identified as the 12-year-old males, as suspects.

Both were booked with criminal mischief – tampering with property, simple criminal damage to property – under $1,000, criminal trespass – immovable property.

Both were released Monday to the custody of their parents
