LAPLACE — In light of the many tragic mass shootings that have occurred over the past few years in schools, churches, and businesses nationwide, St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre requires officers to participate in continuous training to improve skills in preventing and responding to active shooter incidents.
Active shooting scenarios were simulated during the training this week at the National Guard training site in Reserve. Officers participated in several emergency scenarios to enhance their skills to respond to and to survive an active shooter situation.
