LAPLACE — LaPlace resident Dr. Kwadernica “Kwan” Rhea, PhD, graduated from Louisiana State University on Aug. 2 with a Doctor of Philosophy in Nutrition and Food Sciences with a Behavior and Health certification.

Her dissertation was titled “Development, Validation and Testing of the Eating and Food Literacy Behaviors Questionnaire with Young Adult University Students.”

Rhea previously earned a bachelor of science in chemistry from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, where she graduated in 2014. She is a 2010 East St. John alumna.

Rhea is the daughter of Pamela Allen and Larry Rhea.
