LAPLACE – Anastacia Taylor Francis of LaPlace officially announced her candidacy for the District 5 Council seat in St. John the Baptist Parish for the Oct. 12 primary election. 

 “I am a native of Garyville, and I attended East St. John High School, River Parish Community College, Aveda Institute & Bethesda Biblical Institute,” Francis said.  

She is the daughter of Lisa and the late Gregory Taylor of Garyville, wife of Dwayne Francis and the mother of two daughters and two sons. Francis owns and operates a childcare center, Little Starr’s Center in LaPlace. She is also a board member of The Right Choice Project and a passionate volunteer for many community services projects throughout St. John the Baptist Parish. 

“I’m seeking election for the Council seat in District 5 because I want to make a difference in the community, the lives of this generation, and the next generation,” Francis said. “I am ready and willing to work together to build St. John the Baptist Parish using collaborative and strategic methods to improve the community. Once in office, together we can set realistic and attainable goals. 

 “My campaign will focus on the people and the concerns of what matters the most to better the community. It is imperative to focus on the future and move forward for Our Communities, Our Families, and Our Responsibilities.” 

 If elected, Francis ensures accountability, transparency, and high ethical standards for the people of St. John the Baptist Parish.  

“I alone, am not a mountain, but together we can work through the issues and challenges that matter the most to you,” she said. “We live in a great parish! I love my Parish I would greatly appreciate your support in the upcoming election. Let’s work together to make it an even better place to live and work for this generation and future generations.”
