RESERVE — Detectives with the St. John Sheriff’s Office are investigating a double homicide after the body of two males, identified as Kerell Tyrez Sanders, 18, and Kyron Perrilloux, 20, both of Reserve, were found just after midnight Tuesday morning inside a vehicle that crashed into a ditch at W. Airline Highway and East 22nd Street in Reserve.

Both victims had been shot and “specifically targeted,” according to Sheriff Mike Tregre.

“They were stalked and they were hunted down,” Tregre said. “It was not a random act.”

No suspects have been developed, and no motive is known at this time.

Tregre could not publicly release the number of gun wounds the victims sustained or where the wounds were located on the young men’s bodies as of Tuesday morning. He said more information would be released as the investigation continues.

“Right now, we’re still in the middle of it,” Tregre said.

No other information is available at this time, according to police.

Sanders was a recent 2019 East St. John High School graduate.
