Space Spectacular: Registration closing soon for St. Charles Parish Festival Pageant

NORCO — Young ladies between the ages of 10 and 22 are eligible to compete in a “Space Spectacular” St. Charles Parish Festival Pageant to be held at 4 p.m. August 4 at Sacred Heart School in Norco.

A mandatory informational meeting and practice will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the K.C. Hall in Norco. Registration must be submitted by the start of the meeting.

According to organizers, the St. Charles Parish Festival Pageant is a wonderful opportunity to “represent your parish, the sugar industry and a great organization, travel, gain valuable experience, have fun and make lifetime friends and memories.”

The pageant is a preliminary contest to select a Parish Queen to compete in the Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival Queen Sugar Pageant in New Iberia.

Ladies between the ages of 18 to 22 may enter the Miss Division. Young ladies between the ages of 13 to 17 may enter the Teen Division, and young girls between the ages of 10 and 12 are eligible for the Jr. Miss Division.

All contestants must first be a resident of St. Charles Parish.  Additionally, they can never have done any of the following: been married, given birth, or been convicted of a felony.

The Miss and Teen entry fee is $100, and the Jr. Miss Entry Fee is $75.
