St. James Parish Hospital names employee of the First Quarter

LUTCHER — St. James Parish Hospital is proud to announce Chelsea Poche as the 2019 Employee of the First Quarter in recognition of her dedication to the hospital.

Fellow staff nominated Chelsea for the honor, and the Executive Leadership Team chose her for the award.

Chelsea has worked at St. James Parish Hospital for three years. She is currently a health information tech in the Medical Records Department.

Chelsea graduated from Lutcher High School in 2012 and attended Nicholls State University, where she graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an associate’s degree in interdisciplinary studies.

Chelsea was nominated by Kassie Roussel, director of marketing, who wrote, “As we get busy it is often hard to find volunteers. We didn’t have to find Chelsea, she found us.

“Chelsea happily took on the role of Team Captain for the hospital’s Relay for Life team and from day one she has been an amazing, hardworking, creative and dedicated leader for not only the hospital but the entire community. Through her hard work the hospital, she has earned numerous awards including being recognized as the Highest Fundraising Small Business Team,” Roussel said.

Chelsea said St. James Parish Hospital is more than just a place to work.

“It’s a family!” Chelsea said. “I could not be happier to be a part of the SJPH family and not only be successful at my job, but to also be able to lead our hospital’s Relay for Life Team.

“Thanks to the support of our hospital, our employees, our a community and our Relay for Life Team we had great success this past Relay season and hope to continue to be successful in years to come. Thank you SJPH for being a great place to work, with the best coworkers and for offering even better care!”
