SJA celebrates valedictorian Jay Childs

LAPLACE — Jay Childs recently received recognition for being named St. Joan of Arc Catholic School valedictorian by the Rev. Patrick Collum, church pastor; the Rev. Matthew Johnston, parochial vicar; and principal Jeffrey Montz.
Childs has been awarded a scholarship to Brother Martin in the amount of $2,760.
In addition to his academic honors, Childs received the Msgr. Edward Boudreaux Award that is given each year by the faculty to a seventh grade boy who exemplified Catholic values.
During his time at St. Joan of Arc, Childs practiced his faith and exhibited Christian character, service, attitude and respect.
