Welcome Mat Martial Arts Academy plans grand opening, community fun for all Saturday

LAPLACE — Welcome Mat Martial Arts Academy is hosting a grand opening celebration Saturday at 212 Woodland Dr. Ste G in LaPlace.
Doors open at 10 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. judo demonstration and 11 a.m. judo open mat.
Children’s activities take place from noon to 2 p.m., followed by free youth and adult grappling and self-defense classes.
“Beer and Sumo” starts at 4:30 p.m. with a $10 ticket. See welcomematnola.org for more information.
