ALEXANDRIA — The Riverside Academy baseball team closed the season Saturday with a best-of-three series loss to No. 6 Holy Savior Menard.

The No. 11 Rebels struggled at bat and finished with 5-0 and 6-0 losses, but first-year head coach Ashton Perret is proud of his team for outperforming expectations.

Under the leadership of Patrick Boudreaux and Austin Becnel, the Rebels earned unanticipated wins against Isidore Newman and other skilled teams.

Perret said the team is on the come-up with sophomore duo Nick Washington and Anthony Fernandez returning next year.

Riverside Academy finishes the season 13-18.
