LAPLACE — Ranked No. 6, St. Charles Catholic heads into the Division II baseball playoffs with a regional best-of-three round against No. 11 St. Michael the Archangel at Comets field.

Game one begins at 4 p.m. Friday, followed by an 11 a.m. Saturday game. In the event of a split, a third game will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday.

A regional win places the Comets in May 3-4 quarterfinal competition against the winner of No. 3 Teurlings Catholic and No. 14 Thomas Jefferson, who meet this weekend.

The Comets are 25-7 on the season.

West St. John

West St. John started the 2019 season with five consecutive losses but found its footing mid-season, forging an 8-10 record and a No. 14 ranking.

The Rams host a bi-district playoff game against No. 19 South Cameron at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

If successful, West St. John advances to regional play against No. 3 LaSalle early next week.

East St. John

The Wildcats, ranked No. 28, play at 6 p.m. today (April 23) in a bi-district game against No. 5 West Monroe. The Wildcats/West Monroe winner advances to a regional best-of-three against the winner of No. 12 Haughton and No. 21 Comeaux.

The regional round is scheduled to start Friday evening and end on Saturday. The Wildcats ended the regular season 18-12.

Riverside

The No. 11 Riverside Academy Rebels baseball team will compete in best-of-three regional playoff action against No. 6 Holy Savior Menard, starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday on Menard’s field.

A second game will be played at noon on Saturday. If necessary, a deciding 3 p.m. Saturday game follows.
