BOUTTE — Shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday, Louisiana State Police Troop B investigated a fatal crash on U.S. 90 near Ruth Street in Boutte.

The crash involved a pedestrian and claimed the life of 28-year-old Kelsi Montelle-Girlinghouse of Deville.

Preliminary investigation revealed 59-year-old Diana Major of Raceland was driving a Chevrolet Equinox east on U.S. 90 in the left lane.

Girlinghouse was crossing U.S. 90 and was struck by the Chevrolet.

Girlinghouse was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Major was properly restrained and not injured.
