LAKE CHARLES — When it comes to the best elementary social studies projects in Louisiana, Jay Childs is in a class of one.
The St. Joan of Arc Catholic School student placed first at the State Social Studies Fair in Lake Charles for his Sociology Division entry — “What Are the Key Elements of a Popular Video Game?”
Jay was not the only one of his classmates to earn high marks in Lake Charles.
Laney Beadle and Alyse Chauvin teamed up for their project —“Why Does the Cost of Living Increase?” — which placed third in the Economics Group Division.
The seventh graders placed at their school and district social studies fairs to gain entry into the State Social Studies Fair.
