Louisiana gas prices fall slightly in past week

LAPLACE — Gasoline prices in Louisiana have fallen .6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.97/g Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 2,436 stations in Louisiana.
This compares with the national average that is unchanged  versus last week to $2.25/g, according to GasBuddy.
Average gasoline prices today in Louisiana have ranged widely over the last five years: $2.38/g in 2018, $2.13/g in 2017, $1.62/g in 2016, $1.85/g in 2015 and $3.10/g in 2014.
Including the change locally during the past week, pricesSunday were 40.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago and are 1 cent per gallon higher than a month ago.
The national average has dropped 2 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 31.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
Areas near Louisiana and their current gas price climate:
• Baton Rouge- $1.91/g, down 2.1 cents per gallon from last week’s $1.93/g.
• New Orleans- $1.92/g, unchanged  from last week’s $1.93/g.
