LAPLACE — Senior April Bourlet and eighth grader Erin Powell have been named St. Charles Catholic Students of the Year.

According to a release from the school, both of these young women are active members of the SCC community who have maintained high grade point averages in advanced curriculum classes.

“They completed applications and interviews as part of the selection process, and once selected, the ladies completed portfolios for the next level of competition,” the release stated.

The students’ portfolios are now with the Archdiocese of New Orleans, as the selection committee seeks to name Students of the Year to represent the Catholic Schools of the region.
