Diane Gail Vicknair Pickering, 74, of LaPlace died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019 at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice.

She was born on Saturday, Oct. 7, 1944 in New Orleans, daughter of the late Joseph Beauregard Vicknair Sr. and the late Elma Marie Weber.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gordon Larry Pickering; sister Elma Mae Fabre (Vernon); son Gordon Chris Pickering (Claire) and their two children (Mila and Barrett); daughter Christie M. Tregre (Glenn); as well as a brother-in-law, three sisters in-law and
many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother, Joseph Beauregard Vicknair Jr.

Diane worked with Larry as owners and operators of Pick’s for Paint for 40 years.

She enjoyed spending time in her garden, making rosaries and jewelry, and spending time with her grandkids.

Most of all she enjoyed exploring and traveling overseas with family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 13396 River Road in Destrehan on Monday Jan. 21 at noon.

Visitation at the church is from 10 a.m. to noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
