Louisiana gas prices fall in past week
LAPLACE — Gasoline prices in Louisiana have fallen 3.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.91/g Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 2,436 stations in Louisiana.
This compares with the national average that has fallen 3 cents per gallon versus last week to $2.22/g, according to GasBuddy.
Average gasoline prices on January 7 in Louisiana have ranged widely over the last five years: $2.26/g in 2018, $2.16/g in 2017, $1.76/g in 2016, $2.00/g in 2015 and $3.11/g in 2014.
Including the change locally during the past week, prices Sunday were 34.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago and are 18.4 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
The national average has dropped 19.9 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 26.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
Areas near Louisiana and their current gas price climate:
• Baton Rouge- $1.83/g, down 3.2 cents per gallon from last week’s $1.86/g.
• New Orleans- $1.84/g, down 3.4 cents per gallon from last week’s $1.88/g.
