LAPLACE — St. Charles Catholic High School senior Alyssa Portillo swore into the Air National Guard on Nov. 29.

“I have always felt the urge to serve my country and be a part of something so special,” Portillo said.

“After graduation, I will be shipped off to San Antonio for an eight-week Basic Training. Next, I will go to tech school in Biloxi for six weeks. Finally, upon completing this, I plan to further my education at LSU for undergrad and law school.” 

Portillo is the daughter of Jose and Karina Portillo and the sister of fellow Comets Juliana & Gabriella and 2017 alumnus Victoria.
