LAPLACE — Students at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School recently auditioned for Missoula Children’s Theatre’s (MCT) Alice in Wonderland.

After a week of rehearsals after school, the students performed two shows on Saturday.

Missoula Children’s Theatre’s rendition of the classic was entertaining and fast-paced. As the White Rabbit said, “Nonsense is fun!”

The event was possible with the generous support of the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism as administered by the Bayou Regional Arts Council as well as River Region Arts and Humanities Council and Cajun Lodging.

“Middle Alice” portrayed by Layla Jackson, right, and Alice’s older sister “Margaret” portrayed by Kaylee Bossier, left, opened the show with Margaret reading a book to Alice as Alice’s curiosity and imagination led her to Wonderland where she met a variety of characters from stories and nursery rhymes.
