Keller: Make everyday special for thanks

Published 12:01 am Wednesday, November 14, 2018

When we think of Thanksgiving, our first thoughts go to a turkey with all the trimmings!

Unlike other holidays, as Christians, Thanksgiving should be an everyday occasion to thank God.

If we did, it would have a positive impact on our lives.

Psalm 92: 1-2 reads: “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your loving kindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night.”

A thankful heart is pleasing and honors God.

When we are grateful and continually thank Him for everything in our lives, it helps us to trust Him.

It removes the anxious times we may have and completely changes our attitude. It motivates us to understand and accept His Will for our lives.

It helps us to rejoice in the midst of sufferings as we go through any trial. It energizes us for a joyful Christian life.

A few reasons for celebrating Thanksgiving every day is because God chose us. We are eternally secure and have the power of the Holy Spirit and God gives us a peace that surpasses all understanding.

God loves us unconditionally, provides for us, and protects us. Jesus paid the price at the Cross for every sin that we’ve committed.

God gave us the Bible, which is the Word of God, with all the promises to those who believe and submit to His Will for their lives.

Starting today, not waiting until next week, let’s commit to make every day a day of thanksgiving.
