LAPLACE — Girl Scouts Louisiana East invites LaPlace girls to have a spooky good time at its Girl Scout Information Day from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Thomas F. Daley Memorial Park, 2920 U.S. 51 in LaPlace.

The informational meeting provides girls and their families the opportunity to ask questions and register their daughters in Girl Scouts.

Girls will also participate in hands on STEM activities, make s’mores and get lots of candy during the trunk or treat.

Adults interested in volunteering are encouraged to join. Costumes are welcomed.

“We are always excited to bring new girls into our Service Unit and what better way to invite them than with a spooky celebration,” said Girl Scout Service Unit 217 Administrator, Katrice Reid. “From potions to spells, girls will be in for tricks and treats while experiencing why Girl Scouts is the best for them.”

Girls can expect to discover new interests, connect with others, receive college prep and take action on issues that are important to build a lifetime of leadership.

The annual Girl Scout membership fee is $25 for girls and adults. Favorite activities include the outdoors, health and fitness, the arts, science and technology, travel, cookie-selling and much more. For more information about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, visit gsle.org.
