St. Joan of Arc swimmers make a splash at Metro meet

NEW ORLEANS — St. Joan of Arc Catholic School’s swim team recently competed in the Metro Middle School Championship Meet at the University of New Orleans.
The boys’ team placed third out of 14 schools, while the girls’ team placed eighth out of 14 schools. SJA’s combined score ranked sixth out of 15 schools.
After qualifying, the top 22 to 44 swimmers in each stroke from all 15 schools competed in individual races to earn points for their schools.
The relay team of Bryleigh Sutherland, Julia Laiche, Lauren Laiche and Noelle Remondet placed 4th in the 200 m medley relay and 6th in the 200 m freestyle relay in the 7th grade division.
The relay team of Jacques Vicknair, Claude Remondet, Dax Pregeant and Nicholas Abadie competed in the 6th grade relay division and placed 4th in the 200 m medley relay and 2nd in the 200 m freestyle relay. The 7th grade relay team of Hudson Heltz, Joshua Jensen, Noah Troxclair and Carson Weber placed 2nd in the 200 medley relay and 3rd in the 200 m freestyle relay.
