LUTCHER — St. James Parish Hospital is proud to announce the 2018 Employees of the 2nd Quarter, Cathy Rizzuto and Lauren Prestenbach.

Both were nominated by fellow staff and chosen by the Executive Leadership Team for their dedication to the hospital.

Rizzuto has worked at St. James Parish Hospital for 24 years. She serves as the Executive Secretary and Medical Staff Coordinator. She graduated from Riverside Academy and then attended South Central Louisiana Technical College.

In their nomination of Rizzuto, Nurse Manager Hallie Waguespack and Respiratory Manager Laurie Webb wrote, “Cathy puts her needs aside to help others and does so with a positive attitude. She is courteous and shows a genuine concern for us as individuals. Neither of us can recall walking into her office and not being greeted with a smile and a welcoming gesture. Above all, Cathy is patient and kind, which is why we describe her as a breath of fresh air!”

Rizzuto said she is fortunate to have an awesome group of coworkers who make it easy to come to work every day.

“My coworkers are my family,” she said. “They have always been my support team in good times and in bad. A huge thank you to Laurie and Hallie for their nomination and sweet words.”

Prestenbach has worked at St. James Parish Hospital for 2-and-a-half years and serves as a Surgical Tech.

She graduated from Thibodaux High School and is a 2010 Graduate of South Central LA Technical College. She was nominated by the Surgery Team and Materials Department because of her “pleasant style of communication and personal ownership of our surgical success created unprecedented teamwork and collaboration to ensure our surgery team operated like a well-oiled machine.”

Prestenbach said her job feels like “home.”

“I enjoy working hand and hand with Dr. Boyd and caring for our patients,” she said. “I truly have the best of both worlds—being able to work in the clinic and also keep up my skills in surgery. This was always my dream! SJPH and the staff are always welcoming and treat me like family. I am honored to a part of this hospital!”
