RESERVE — Rebels fans have been patiently waiting to celebrate a victory all season, and the home team delivered in a big way Friday.

First, it was Joseph Chiarella’s turn.

The most consistent SCC offensive force this season kept the pressure up, notching two more touchdowns (2-yard score & 21-yard run) in the opening frame to effectively clinch the win for the Comets (3-3).

Then, it was Keenan Gauff’s turn.

The sophomore running back, who had five carries through his team’s first four games, scored from 25 yards out for SCC’s first touchdown of the second quarter.

Within minutes he scored two more times on runs of 14 and 59 yards to give St. Charles Catholic a 42-0 halftime lead.

The defense took care of things the rest of the way, pitching a shutout over the final two quarters to end the game with the same 42-0 score.
