Baylor freshman guard Jared Butler has been granted a waiver by the NCAA to be immediately eligible to play college basketball for the Bears in 2018. Butler, originally an Alabama commit from Riverside Academy, is rated as a four-star guard by 247 Sports. He averaged 27.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 8.4 assists and three steals during his senior season as a members of the Rebels. The Bears have some openings in the back court after the graduation of Manu Lecomte and absence of Jake Lindsey this season.
