RESERVE — Haeden Wahden, a ninth grader at Riverside Academy and member at large, is the 4-H Member of the Month.

Organizers say he is always ready to attend and help at 4-H events. Last year he was involved in the Jr. Leader club, attended Challenge Camp, attended Lost Camp and was eager to learn more.

The Jr. Leader club is a 4-H club any eighth through 12th grader can join. Their first meeting is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sicily’s Pizza.

There will be free food for Jr. Leaders who attend. Organizers will discuss upcoming community service projects, trips to go on, camps and fundraising for the end-of-year trip. To become a Jr. Leader, you must be enrolled as a 4-H member.

Organizers are reaching out to any fourth through 12th grade student who doesn’t already belong to a school club to become a member of 4-H.

Students can become “members at large.” These members are a big part of contests, events and camps offered to 4-H members. Members will be on an e-mail list to receive our 4-H newsletter and announcements about any 4-H news.

Do not miss out on signing up your child to join 4-H. Enroll by Oct. 31. Contact the 4-H office at 985-497-3261 or Brittney Ivey at bivey@agcenter.lsu.edu for more information.
