LUTCHER — St. James Parish Hospital is extremely excited to lead a four-week wellness initiative in October aimed at recognizing Women’s Health and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

To kick-off the festivities, the hospital invites women from the River Parishes to a special event on Oct. 1.

Star in Our  Commercial

Local women and breast cancer survivors are invited to join us in the hospital lobby on Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. to be featured in the hospital’s women’s health commercial.

Everyone attending is asked to wear pink and survivors are encouraged to wear banners from past events. The hospital will  also have a limited number of survivor banners.

Camera shy? Don’t worry, a smile is all that’s required.

Pink Hospital Lighting

Following the filming of the commercial, join organizers at 7 p.m. in the hospital lobby for a brief welcome and presentation led by Dr. Rachel Bezdek, OBGYN at Rue De Sante Women’s Center.

Bezdek performs female surgeries at St. James Parish Hospital. The presentation will be followed by the first annual pink lighting of the hospital, cake and refreshments.

In addition to the kick-off event, the hospital will be hosting various wellness activities throughout October. “Like” the hospital’s Facebook Page and visit sjph.org/events for a full schedule of events.
