Det. Taylor’s kindness, skill leads to 30-year sentence for cruelty to a juvenile

LAPLACE — St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre named Detective Ann Taylor Officer of the Second Quarter for 2018.
Sgt. Taylor was honored Sept. 4 for her kindness and compassion towards an abused juvenile, as well as her outstanding investigative work that led to the arrest of the suspect for physical abuse of the juvenile.
Authorities said the suspect later pleaded guilty to cruelty to a juvenile and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
