DESTREHAN — River Parishes Community Development Corporation recently awarded St. Charles Parish Public Schools $15,000 grant for its Industrial Soft-Craft Training Program.
The funding enables Apache Industrial Services to partner with the school system and provide high school students with basic technical skills and workplace safety knowledge required for immediate employment in the industrial business sector.
The course provides students with opportunities to visit local manufacturing facilities, the Apache Regional Office and observe how the learned skills are applied in the industrial workplace.
All courses will be taught by Apache Industrial Services employees. The development corporation is a non-profit established to improve economic conditions in the River Parishes.
