LAPLACE — The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a business safety awareness and crime prevention program in October, but the deadline to register is approaching Sept. 14.

The event is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Lanard Robinet Multi-Purpose Room, 100 Deputy Barton Granier Drive in LaPlace.

Lunch will be provided, and all local business owners are encouraged to attend.

Among the topics are opening and closing procedures, robbery protocol, internal theft protection, cash protection system and physical security measures.
