Walter “Boogon” Joseph Edler Jr. was born on June 12, 1939, and passed away on Aug. 26, 2018, at the age of 79.

He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace.
Walter is survived by his wife, Carol V. Edler; daughter Stacy E. Tierney; brother Brent Edler; sisters Gerri Bourgeois and Debbie Vinturella; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter J. Edler Sr. and Regina Laiche Edler; son Walter J. Edler III.; daughter Dixie Marie Edler and sisters Doris Roussel and Zola Martin.
A visitation in Walter’s honor will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon at Rose Lynn Funeral Home in Lutcher.
Burial will follow at the St. John Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in LaPlace.
Rose Lynn Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.
