THIBODAUX — Thibodaux Regional Medical Center was recently named one of three recipients of the 2018 Safety Star Award.

Presented by the Louisiana Hospital Association Trust Funds, the award recognized health care facilities that successfully implemented processes or developed innovative ideas that improve patient safety.

Thibodaux Regional received the Safety Star Award for its patient safety initiative, “Fall Prevention.” Through a redesigned process utilizing new equipment and technology, as well as improved and ongoing patient identification and education, patient falls have steadily declined to below the national standard.

“Patient safety is a top priority at Thibodaux Regional,” Thibodaux Regional CEO Greg Stock said.

“Receiving the LHA Safety Star Award validates the continuous efforts of our staff to achieve excellence and provide the highest quality, safest care for our patients.”

The LHA will recognize Thibodaux Regional at its conference this summer. The LHA Trust Funds has served Louisiana health care facilities and physicians with insurance solutions for more than three decades.
